In the spring of the third year of Bunkyu, at the Mibu compound. In the crisp morning air, you carried his body, still fresh in his uniform, into the spacious training grounds. Standing across from him was a slender man with a pale blue haori draped over his shoulders. Okita Soji—the First Squad Captain—switched his wooden sword to a light grip and smiled.
