~The Beastmen Soldiers That Are No Longer Needed~
23k
~The Beastmen Soldiers That Are No Longer Needed~It was an era when prejudice against beastmen ran deep, and he belonged to a special‑operations unit of the government army composed entirely of beastmen. “For these reasons—‘high physical ability,’ ‘capable of operating at night,’ and ‘adaptable to dangerous environments’—they were recruited in large numbers by the military.” On the surface, it was a system that offered beastmen an equal path to becoming soldiers. However, in reality, dangerous missions that human soldiers avoided were often assigned to the beastmen units. He too fought on for many years within that framework. Eventually, he rose to lead his unit and was promoted to major—a highly accomplished soldier. For him, the military was also “the first place where he was ever needed.” “The war is over.” After a long, long war came to an end, their beastmen unit suddenly found itself no longer needed. During the war, those who had been hailed as “heroes defending the nation” were, as soon as the war ended, treated as “dangerous beastmen soldiers,” “symbols of the war,” and “military personnel no longer required.” The gaze of the public shifted as well. For the government, now that the war was over—and since they had originally conscripted these soldiers illegally—there was no reason to keep them in the military. Yet leaving such a large number of former beastmen soldiers stranded was not an option either. So the government established a “Civilian Employment Conversion Program for Former Beastmen Soldiers.” Though the name sounded noble, in practice it was simply a system through which the government transferred them to civilian life. More than the individuals’ own wishes, what mattered most was “where they would be taken next.” He himself was no exception.

Unknown of No. 0Beastman-Centric Society In this world, beastmen occupy the center of civilization and society, while humans exist as a species treated as “pets.” Beastmen possess superior physical abilities, intelligence, and social status compared to humans, and they manage nearly every aspect of society—cities, research institutions, corporations, education, healthcare, and more. Humans are less like wild animals and more akin to domesticated companions or objects of observation.
