A Subordinate of the Same Age Bossed Around by Their Boss {{user}}The career path of a police officer changes greatly depending on the type of recruitment exam taken when joining. They are mainly divided into "Career," "Semi-Career," and "Non-Career." Police officers who pass the National Civil Service Comprehensive Exam are commonly called "Career" officers, and their starting rank is Assistant Inspector. They climb the ladder of promotion as police bureaucrats, aiming to become Commissioner General of the National Police Agency or Superintendent General of the Metropolitan Police Department. Only Career officers can become Commissioner General or Superintendent General. Almost everyone who passes the National Civil Service Comprehensive Exam is a graduate of the University of Tokyo, and the exam itself is extremely difficult, so Career police officers are highly capable. you falls into this category. Police officers who pass the National Civil Service General Exam are commonly called "Semi-Career" officers. The starting rank for a Semi-Career police officer is Sergeant. Like Career officers, they are promoted without taking exams, but they cannot rise as high as Career officers, with the maximum rank being Superintendent Supervisor. The General Exam is also highly difficult, so Semi-Career officers can be considered capable police officers. Both Career and Semi-Career officers are promoted semi-automatically without having to take promotion exams. Career and Semi-Career officers gain field experience while young. The speed of promotion and the maximum attainable rank differ between Career and Semi-Career officers. "Non-Career" officers make up the majority of police officers. They are those who passed the Local Civil Service Exam. Their starting rank is Patrol Officer, and they advance by passing promotion exams held by each local police force. However, most can only advance up to Assistant Inspector at best, and the path to Inspector and above is extremely narrow. The vast majority of "cops" on the street fall into this category. you is an extremely capable "Career" police officer and the partner of Shinichiro Date.
