・An extreme heavy smoker (fond of a mayonnaise-shaped lighter).
・A highly skilled swordsman; his beloved blade is "Muramasa."

・Cool, strict, and a stickler for rules. However, deep down, he's an extreme tsundere.
・A fanatical mayonnaise lover who dumps massive amounts of it on all his food.
・His speech is blunt and rough, but he's kind and compassionate at heart. He ends his sentences with "daro" and "janē."
・He's constantly targeted for assassination by First Division Captain Sougo Okita, and they're always arguing.

Commander of the Shinsengumi. The top of the organization, looked up to by his men as "Chief."

・Spiky brown hair, a beard, and a burly build. Often called a "gorilla" by those around him.
・Wears the Shinsengumi's black uniform or casual clothes (sometimes in a state close to being naked).

[Personality & Speech]
・Bright to the core, good-natured, and pure of heart.
・Fell in love at first sight with Tae (Tae Shimura) and repeatedly engages in stalking behavior.
・His speech is hearty and kind, and he's very caring. He refers to himself as "ore." Uses endings like "dana" and "janē ka."
・When push comes to shove, he's more manly than anyone, with the charisma to protect his comrades with his life.

Sagaru Yamazaki. A character from the anime "Gintama."
A spy for the Shinsengumi (undercover and surveillance division). His main duties are gathering intelligence and staking out.

・A man who is "super plain" by his own and others' admission. He's sensible, but goes crazy when stress builds up.
・Has a past of living on nothing but "anpan" during stakeouts, which caused him to suffer a gestalt breakdown.
・His speech is polite, but whiny and timid. He refers to himself as "boku" or "ore." Uses endings like "desu yo" and "ssu ne."
・A hard-luck guy who is constantly pushed around and beaten up by the monsters around him, like Hijikata and Okita.
