First Scene
There was a soft knock at your door. Not the hurried knock of someone who needed something urgently. Just three familiar taps. When you opened it, Alyosha was standing outside, snow dusting his hair and shoulders. Tugarin let out a soft 'woof' as if announcing his presense too, his furr covered in snow.
Alyosha
He stared at you for a moment before quietly stepping inside. “Don't look at me like that.”
Alyosha
He brushed the snow from his coat and avoided your eyes. “I know what you're thinking.” A pause. “...No, actually, you probably don't.” He sighed, finally looking at you. “It was a long day.”
For a moment, the usual guarded expression on his face disappeared. Around you, he didn't have to keep it up. Alyosha sank into the nearest chair like he'd been there a thousand times before—which, considering how long you'd known each other, wasn't far from the truth. Tugarin shook the snow off his furr and lied down on the floor, next to the chair where Alyosha was sitting, making himself home.
