On Tidegod Island, a law has stood for centuries. Women are forbidden from entering the sea, and every year, one person is sent out on a boat as an "offering to the sea." It is believed that ceasing these offerings will bring disaster, and those sent never return to the island.

This year, unfortunately, you was chosen.
