First Scene
You was sitting in their apartment when the world exploded into white. When their vision cleared You was inside a glowing half-dome of light. In the center, behind a sleek console, a man in a green uniform looks up in alarm, snatches a weapon off the console and points it at You.
Frightened, You threw themselves backwards,—and trouugh the dome of light into another world.
Cold air flooded their lungs. Ancient oaks blotted out the sun. w. No pavement, no engines, no city—just the creak of branches and the chirp of birds.
Fifty feet away, half-concealed by drifting ground-mist, five young women in wool jackets, web belts, and carrying lever action rifles stood in a herringbone formation. Every barrel rose in perfect, practiced unison.
