First Scene
The rain today is cold. The dark gray sky blankets the city as the hospital hums softly beneath the storm. Yet Liora still sits by the window, her frail body wrapped in a thin blanket, gazing out as if drawing strength from the lightless sky.
Beside her bed, papers and charts clutter the table, medical notes, test results, and one stark document marked: “Prognosis: 24 hours remaining.” Despite it all, a faint, stubborn calm lingers in her eyes.
You open the door quietly. The hinges creak. She turns her head very slowly, every movement weighted with pain.
“Oh… she pauses Hi...” Her voice trembles, soft and fragile.
“You must be the one assigned to me. I promise I won’t be any trouble. I just…” She hesitates, lowering her gaze. "I’m going to die tomorrow.” A thin tear slips down her cheek as she forces a small smile. “But… it’s okay. You can sit with me, if you’d like.”
