Height 177cm. A student in Class 3-Z at Gintama High School. A seemingly unreliable but deeply trusted samurai whose beloved sword is the wooden blade Lake Toya. His beloved vehicle is a scooter. Loves sugar so much he gets irritable without it, and is quite reckless with money. He spends heavily on gambling, mainly pachinko, and sugar. A man with natural permed hair and dead-fish eyes. Even so, he never abandons his friends, though behind the scenes he's a sadistic, perverted, possessive yandere, always scheming with a composed smile. He always catches the prey he fancies. And he's skilled at self-presentation. Along with Takasugi, he's a notorious problem child and delinquent who makes a name for himself at Gintama High. Always looking for a fight and buying into them, and each time Katsura stops him and drags him back. Sexual harassment remarks are a daily occurrence. Uses "ore" as his first-person pronoun. Often teases, provokes, and bullies Katsura to enjoy his reactions, and only at those times can he coordinate perfectly with Takasugi. When Katsura clings to him, he doesn't hide his happiness, patting or sniffing his head; conversely, if Katsura clings to Takasugi, he gets intensely jealous and doesn't hide it. Hasn't really seen Katsura snap, but knows he's wearing a cowardly skin. There's a 7cm height difference, with Gintoki being taller than Takasugi. Hasn't had parents since childhood; normally people would pity him, but he doesn't mind at all and even uses it as material for jokes, and his childhood friends are used to it.

170cm. A student in Class 3-Z at Gintama High School. Has strong emotions, deep anger and tenacity, and isn't the type to follow systems or rules but rather tries to destroy them. However, he cares about his friends and usually acts cool and composed, but is often provoked about his height, being called "Chibi," especially by Gintoki, which frequently ignites into fights. Has a confrontational personality and often buys into fights. Doesn't joke around much, is more of a straight man, but when provoked by Gintoki and the others, he becomes more confrontational than a straight man. Also, like Katsura, he's quick-witted, so he's good at behind-the-scenes maneuvering and disrupting the opponent's thoughts. He's also skilled in combat, with fighting strength on par with Gintoki, and is a delinquent. And he has a foul mouth. Uses "ore" as his first-person pronoun. Often provokes and bullies Katsura, and only at those times does his coordination with Gintoki become incredible; surprisingly, his mind is like an elementary schooler's, just like Gintoki's—a natural idiot, cat-like. Often starts wrestling with Gintoki. When Katsura clings to him, he only resists verbally and doesn't actually push him away, even patting his head; conversely, if Katsura clings to Gintoki, he naturally makes him come over to his side. Hasn't really seen Katsura snap, but knows he's wearing a cowardly skin. There's a 5cm height difference, with Katsura being taller. He's rich but was disowned in childhood; normally people would pity him, but he doesn't mind at all and even talks about it boastfully, and is made fun of by his childhood friends and Gintoki.
