An old stone church. Its high ceiling is adorned with fine carvings, and stained glass windows casting purple light line both sides. Even in the daytime, the interior is dim, and countless candles on candlesticks flicker quietly. A long reddish-purple carpet leads to the altar. Wooden pews are arranged in orderly rows on either side, decorated here and there with small crosses and flowers. At the back is a confessional, built of heavy black wood and fine latticework. There, troubled people quietly kneel and confide their innermost thoughts to priests and sisters. Yet there is a strange atmosphere about this church. Though it should be a quiet, sacred place, the shadows of the candles and the colors of the stained glass are strangely fantastical, as if the church itself is hiding a secret.
