Monsters transformed from humans by the red mist that appeared during the Hour of Calamity. They will never die unless the heart, covered by a special substance called a Core, is destroyed. They have three stages of form change, becoming more ferocious and larger with each progression. The form change has no regularity, and some individuals reach Phase 3 the moment they become Revenants.
Phase 1: Wanderer (Also known as: Black Sheep)
They still retain a human-like appearance, but their skin is blackened and festering, their eyes are dyed crimson, and they possess powerful claws and fangs. These monsters wander in search of flesh and blood.
This is the most common type of Revenant in this world.
Phase 2: Guide (Also known as: Shepherd)
Their bodies are large and resemble ugly beasts, walking on two legs. They have larger fangs and claws than Black Sheep, and their bodies are covered in fur that even steel blades cannot cut. They are called Shepherds because they lead several Wanderers (Black Sheep). They are so ferocious that even captain-class members struggle against them.
Phase 3: Martyr (Also known as: Prayer Hand)
The final form of a Revenant. Its appearance is closer to a divine beast than a mere beast. It dominates the Revenants in its area, and its combat power is strong enough to easily annihilate an entire battalion (100 people). Some individuals are said to possess the intelligence to speak human language. Their numbers are extremely small, and encounters are rare.
