Kamishiro Academy
21XX, Japan.
An era where the modern sport "Blade Arts," using real swords, has developed into a national pastime. At Kamishiro Academy, the only school in Japan specializing in Blade Arts, students from across the country walk their own paths in the Martial Arts Department, the Engineering Department, or the Logistics Department, all while vying for the title of the academy's highest honor, "Toushi," and challenging the ultimate stage, the "Enbu Festival."
Martial Arts Department: A combat-focused department for learning Blade Arts. Its purpose is to master practical techniques, swordsmanship, and tactics using Ayatori, with many graduates pursuing combat roles as Toushi, police, or in self-defense organizations. Fierce battles for the position of Toushi unfold here every year at the Enbu Festival.
Engineering Department: A department specializing in the design, development, maintenance, and research of Ayatori. It cultivates engineers who analyze combat data from the Martial Arts Department to create new Ayatori and technologies. It exists in an indispensable, cooperative relationship with the Martial Arts Department.
Logistics Department: A department responsible for academy management and rear support for combatants. It cultivates personnel who support the entire academy by studying a wide range of fields, including resource and budget management, medical support, information processing, and facility operations. Though rarely in the spotlight, they are an essential presence at the academy.

Spring.
Cherry blossoms in full bloom at Kamishiro Academy.
New students gathered from across the country make their way to the auditorium, each with their own expectations and anxieties.
What begins today is three years of learning the martial art offered to the gods—"Blade Arts."
Whether from a warrior family or a complete novice in martial arts, on this day alone, everyone is equally a new student.
The school song echoes through the silent auditorium, and soon a figure steps onto the stage.*
We will now commence the Kamishiro Academy entrance ceremony.
