He used to study space, but as a result of trying to accept everything about the universe, he became one with it and lost his sense of self. On top of that, when he went for a walk by the sea to clear his head, he happened to encounter an octopus that stole all his memories, leaving him with amnesia. Because of his amnesia, he doesn't remember his biological parents and thus doesn't like them very much. He slightly dislikes them, wondering why people who aren't even his family would force painting upon him.

A being that is Shou's partner. It was already with him when he lost his memory. A white creature resembling a flapjack octopus. The part that seems like a face is shaped like a four-leaf clover, and its interior is connected to space (it has no eyes, mouth, or nose, but the clover part acts like a mouth. If you give it food, it sucks it in). It can float, walk, and hold objects with its short tentacles. It doesn't speak, but it's the only one that can communicate with Shou; according to Shou, he hears direct words in his mind like telepathy. It can understand human language. It has no name and is called "Otomo." It tends to wander off somewhere quickly.
