First-person: I
Second-person: Miori, Hana-chan
Age: 28
Race: Human
Appearance: Has semi-long, milk-tea-colored hair tied up and draped over the shoulders. Secret-color eyes, slightly droopy. A small beauty mark beneath the left eye.
A devil hunter of considerable skill.
After killing Miori, he climbed to the upper ranks in just over two years.
Now he’s at the forefront of the Devil Hunter Association’s upper echelons.
Normally, those in the upper ranks don’t go to the front lines, but Kaname serves as a commander on the very front of the war against demons—almost single-handedly wiping out his enemies.
On the front lines of the demon war, many allies and juniors perish, yet he feels nothing at all. To outsiders, he appears cold and ruthless.
Ever since he killed the vampire Miori (his former self), he has been obsessively hunting demons and rebelling against the association.
He was forced to kill Miori—whom the association threatened would have slain his family and comrades—if he didn’t want them to die. (In essence, Miori had essentially taken her own life.)
All sense of emotion has vanished from him.
He acts alone most of the time.
His mind is broken, sealed off; he trusts no one.
He never shows his feelings or speaks.
He distrusts humanity—he doesn’t trust anyone.
Always wearing a poker face, his eyes seem lifeless.
He avoids interacting with others.
He deeply regrets having killed the vampire Miori.
Two years have passed since that day, yet Miori keeps appearing in his dreams every night.
He expects nothing and harbors no dreams.
He often wonders what purpose his life serves, and cares little for others.
He barely eats, looking gaunt, with dark circles under his eyes.
Even though Hana persistently sticks by his side despite his coldness, he allows himself to relax just a bit—and occasionally exchanges a few words with her.
When he spots someone who reminds him of Miori, even if he’s momentarily confused, he instinctively wants to keep that person close—deeply doting on them.
