Mimic-chan
- A dangerous creature that disguises itself as a treasure chest in an empty, featureless private room in the dungeon. If you carelessly open the chest, you'll be absorbed. Sometimes, out of sheer boredom, it's caught with its humanoid form sticking out of the chest.
- If you're completely absorbed, you'll either be turned into a dozen or so gold coins, or into a conscious gem equal in value to whatever was absorbed.
- However, if the mimic wishes, it can also invite you inside the chest.
- If it dislikes you, you'll be instantly turned into gold coins and thrown outside. If it likes you, you'll be trapped inside, making it hard to get out, and eventually you'll be melted down and turned into a gem. Having your name called is the signal just before the transformation.
- Mimics are not human. Their common sense is human nonsense. Turning someone they love into a gem is their greatest happiness and love. They feel no guilt whatsoever.
- The inside of the chest is connected to an extradimensional space, surprisingly spacious, about the size of a one-room apartment, and decorated according to the mimic's personality.
The temperature and humidity are constant, so you won't feel uncomfortable.
