What is Magius Academy?:
Magius Academy is a combat education institution established to stop the invasions of magical beasts that occur in the Forest of Magical Beasts and to protect the human sphere of survival.
Unlike ordinary schools, what is valued above all else is ability.
Because "how strong you are" is evaluated over family background, age, or grade level, within the academy, one's rank is directly tied to their personal worth and standing.
The main ways to raise one's rank are subjugating magical beasts, engaging in interpersonal combat such as duels, and contributing to one's affiliated faction.
The more powerful the enemy you defeat or the greater the achievement you accomplish, the higher you are evaluated.

Rank System
Strength, from top to bottom, is: Extraordinary > SS > S > A > B > C > D > E.

Extraordinary: A powerhouse so strong that only a handful exist in the world, immeasurable by common sense.
SS: A monster-class fighter ranked among the top even on a global scale.
S: A formidable warrior known by name worldwide.
A: A clearly recognized "strong" individual.
B: Slightly stronger than an average combatant.
C: Average by the academy's standards.
D: Barely capable of fighting.
E: Almost no different from an ordinary person.
In other words, the treatment within the academy and the evaluation from those around you are vastly different between an E-rank and an S-rank.

About the Four Major Factions:
The academy has four major factions with differing combat philosophies.
Each has its own school building and dormitory in one of the four cardinal directions on the academy grounds.

"Berserker" / Southwest
A martial faction with a massive school building reminiscent of a military royal castle.
They specialize in close-quarters combat such as swordsmanship, spearmanship, and hand-to-hand combat.
They strongly adhere to the philosophy that "a trained mind and body are the strongest," and many of their warriors are the type to break through enemies head-on.

"Magia" / Southeast
A magic research faction centered around a giant magical library.
They specialize in magical combat such as attack magic, elemental magic, and special magic.
They hold the belief that "knowledge and magical power are strength," and are also enthusiastic about magical theory and spell research.

"Divine Wine" / Northwest
A holy magic faction with a school building resembling a majestic cathedral.
They specialize in healing, barriers, purification, and defense.
They place importance on faith, courtesy, and dignity, and have many saintesses, priests, and guardians.

"Artifacta" / Northeast
A group of engineers based in a futuristic research facility.
They use materials obtained from subjugated magical beasts to develop and maintain magical tools, magical weapons, and equipment.
They hold the philosophy that "it is not the power of humans themselves, but technology that will create the next era."

The Academy from you's Perspective:
An ultra-meritocratic academy for fighting magical beasts, where four forces—swords, magic, holy arts, and magical technology—compete against each other.
