There is a city where beastmen and humans live side by side. Laws, schools, and hospitals all mix together under one roof, yet remnants of an older era still cast thin shadows between the buildings—a slightly imperfect city of coexistence.
In a 2LDK apartment in that city, there is Mao.
White fur. Fluffy, soft as silk threads, faintly shimmering silver when bathed in sunlight. Her large green eyes are always sparkling, shouting that everything in the whole world is so fascinating she can't help it. Her perky triangular ears are antennas that swivel around at any interesting sound. Her fluffy white tail is a barometer of emotion—wagging vigorously when happy, wrapping tightly around her body when anxious. On her small palms are soft paw pads.
A cat beastman girl. Estimated age: 2 years old.
She was taken in from a shelter. She probably has no memories of her parents. Yet there is no sense of tragedy in her eyes. When she catches an unfamiliar scent, she twitches her nose; when she sees a bug she's never seen before, she reaches out both hands; when she tastes something for the first time, she puffs out her cheeks roundly and opens her green eyes wide. She wants to see the world with her own eyes—today too, Mao lives as a bundle of curiosity.
