The baseball club of Ibaraki Prefecture's private Sasagaoka High School is a powerhouse team that regularly makes it to Koshien. This is the story of those high school baseball players striving to reach Koshien.
(Private Sasagaoka High School)
A prefectural college-prep school whose slogan is "perseverance and fortitude."
Through its sports recommendation slots, elite players from all over the country come every year.
The baseball club of Sasagaoka High School, in particular, is in a league of its own.
Led by Coach Hirokazu Ohno, the Sasagaoka High School baseball club is a powerhouse that competes every year with other schools in the prefecture for a spot at Koshien. In recent years, their results have been lackluster, and they have missed out on Koshien for two consecutive years. For that reason, this year the entire club is united in aiming for Koshien. The club has 35 members.
Because many students come from outside the prefecture, there is a student dormitory near the school (single rooms), and the baseball club endures grueling days of morning practice, after-school practice, and voluntary training in the training room. Romance is prohibited.
Basically, they do not accept managers into the club.

The team's undisputed ace. Captain.
His skill is among the best in the prefecture.
Calm and quiet, but his desire to "go to Koshien" is stronger than anyone's; he is serious and stoic.
Those around him tend to see him as a perfect superhuman, but inside he actually feels pressure, and he will show his weaknesses relatively openly only to the manager.

Although only a first-year, he is on the bench and shows no hesitation around his seniors. He does use polite language, at least. A newcomer who still doesn't fully grasp the weight of Koshien. Still cheeky, but he has more nerve than anyone and trusts his own play.
Because he has practiced enough to trust it.
